ABOUT ME

Over the past 16 years, I’ve embraced various cities around the world as my home, each contributing to my diverse perspective in design. With a background in communications, semiotics, and interaction design, I specialize in experience design, focusing on strategies and research that enhance user engagement. My journey has allowed me to immerse myself in different cultures and contexts, deepening my understanding of how design influences human behavior and interactions.

I’ve had the privilege of working on a wide array of projects in creative agencies, as a freelancer, and as a co-founder, as well as in in-house roles. Each experience has enriched my skill set and offered valuable insights into the design process. I thrive in collaborative environments where I can work alongside teams to create thoughtful, innovative experiences that resonate on a personal level, ultimately fostering meaningful change for users.

Design Studies for Calm

I have a solid foundation in design studies, conducting academic research, and developing analytical tools and methodologies.

In my research, I frequently integrate design studies with semiotic tools to investigate how we shape ourselves through design, particularly aiming to cultivate a more joyful, peaceful, and fulfilling life. For instance, in my Ph.D. dissertation, I looked into how material art practices could enhance interaction design to create calming user experiences.

Critical Design Educator

I have taught various workshops and seminars on critical design practice. I have also developed several devices (e.g., games, objects, spaces) to involve diverse individuals (e.g., children, students, refugees) in speculative design processes.

In those, I have brought together design thinking and foresight approaches to explore complex subjects like the environmental emergency, mass migration, and the future of nations.

Tech-Driven Wellness

I’m passionate about integrating technology with wellness practices. For instance, in 2013, I co-founded Directorio Yoga and AVYoga, two directories for the Yoga communities in Argentina and Venezuela, respectively.

Interestingly, the first became obsolete two years later when Google Maps mapped the Argentine territory and replaced most directories. The second one, due to Google’s limited presence in Venezuela, remains the country’s primary yoga directory.

I am a certified Yoga Teacher and have been practicing yoga since childhood
